Just a heads up for ACT gunzels, 1210 will be (Provided there is no TFB) working a special train for a group of overseas enthusiasts to Royalla next Tuesday. Consist is expected to be 1210, HCX, BJ, TCS. Should make a nice little vintage consist!

Cheers

Departure from Canberra Yard (TAA says we aren't shunting to the platform) is at 2pm.

Arrival back at Canberra is 6:30pm

A word of warning: If there is a reasonably high fire danger (ie, no rain between now and then), this train will be either diesel hauled or may not run at all.
1210 got into trouble tackling Tuggers bank today with the FCE Steam Experience and ran low on water putting a lineside grass fire out. The train was pulled up at Tuggeranong station and 7319 had to come out to pull the train back to Canberra.

Unfortunatly the RFS refused to give us their blessing to run 1210 beyond the Canberra home stick today, so 7319 did the honours on the train. We did however, arrange for 1210 to be in steam and do a photo run by in Canberra yard for our visitors. They also seemed quite chauffed when we paralelled the train out of Canberra (Up the north shunt) so hopefully they got something out of the day.

Here are some piccies:

In the yard prior to departure

A very vintage looking train

Arr, what a beauty!

Evening sets in as the old girls shunts the train back to the museum

At my model railway working bee, a visitor and one of the participants told me they went on that trip. And had photos, I'm so envious of them riding and seeing 1210 in the fleash, well in steam.

'Fraid you'll have to hold on til next year David. 1210s steaming year appears to be finished. Unless there is a substantial drenching, RFS has determined the risk is too great.
