I had some from Richmond today, much better than FSS. I also had some doughnuts from Footscray, man are they good or what.
"Shacks"

They must have improved since I last bought food there. For me their Dim Sims are about on par with the ones at FSS, but their potato cakes and hot chips leave a lot to be desired.

Are you taking a trip on the Epping line while you're here in Melbourne, Shacks? If so, I suggest you get off at Preston and try the donuts there (they're sold from a small outlet next to Preston Market).....now, they are undoubtedly the best donuts I have ever tasted.
"Byrnesy"

They are also excellent - remember it is only open Tuesday-Saturday, including late on a Friday Wink.

Preston is IIRC 75c each, Footscray 60c each. Much better than Donut King $1 each Rolling Eyes

Ohhhh yes, they're so good there aren't words for it. Especially if you get there just after they've fried up a batch. Just typing this has me thinking it's time for a quick diversion to Footscray tomorrow just for that one donutty purpose Laughing

Oh, and if you are lucky enough to buy some of their donuts just before they're about to close for the evening, don't be too surprised if you order 3 and find yourself with 7 or so Smile

Personally, I cannot wait for those horrible stands to be removed from the platforms.

You can't guarentee that they will be hot -  I went there one one instance ages ago in the morning, and they were cold Sad as they must have been sitting around for a while though Sad. Best time to go IMO is around 4-4.30pm in the afternoon, always been good around then as its quite  busy.

Do you know when they close, and if they are open on a Sunday or not? Confused

Must have been a fresh batch out of the oven then.

Multiple times I've knowingly missed a train or tram to get donuts there Laughing

I have seen lesbians everywhere - large patch around Albert Pk/Middle Park (usually very pretty ones) , Fitzroy stretching north (usually more butch), even around Newmarket (don't know how the large Islamic pop find that!), even seen them on my TV screen once or twice.

For a bit higher-brow, check out Josie Ho (daughter of casino tycoon Stanley Ho, she was married at the Manningham Hotel in Bulleen last year) in Butterfly Mark, great film she plays a school teacher at a girls school who remembers what times were like when she was a student there, including her special friend. Very graphic for a MA rated film!

It turns out that new area between platforms 8/9 and 10 will be for travelers aid - rather interesting, I would have made it a gunzel friendly cafe. Mr. Green

There will also be 6 tenancies along the Swanston Street side (beside the existing the cop shop and newsagent) and two retail shops, one between the southern barriers and the platform 12/13 stairs, and the other to the west of that. There is also another tiny store in a corner, and two kiosks floating about somewhere out in the middle of it all.
"wongm"

The retail stores near the entrance to platforms 12 & 13, along with some of the ones on the street frontage (tenancies 1, 2, 5, & 6?) have been under construction for about the last week or two.  There's no sign yet of the kiosks being constructed, nor, as far as I've noticed, the Traveller's Aid site.

The Box Hill bus interchange used to have someone who makes good coffee and bacon sandwich, I wonder if she is still there... Confused

I never heard of a coffee-and-bacon sandwich. Does it come soggy-like, in a waterproof bag, or do they offer a krispy version?

Its' remarkable the amount of kilojoules contained in a liquid emal sludge.. Tasted rather OK... too

The Newsagent moved out if its "temporary" accommodation about two weeks ago, and about one week ago moved into the first of the new shops to open, between the south-end concourse barriers and the steps and lift to platforms 12 and 13.

Hoardings around a couple of other new shops have come down and look like they are about ready for fitting out.

I work for Boost Juice,

The word from head-office is that Boost Juice will not be considering a spot in the Flinders Street complex because a Franchisee already owns a store outside the complex, (near platform one exit), and term of the agreement is that another store would not be placed in so close to another store, plus they already have other stores in Southgate Shopping Centre & Swanston Street. Hence also the reason to why there is NO boost in the the DFO because there is a Boost Juice just off Spencer Street and again the terms of the contract with the franchisee dictate that  store could not go there without the written agreement of the owner of the closer store...

all very confusing.. but i'm pretty sure we wont be seeing a Boost in theFlinders Street complex, unless it moves from its current (small) location.
If i hear anything.. I"ll let u no Smile
  Mr. Lane Chief Commissioner

The new shops at Flinders Street look tacky and have destroyed the station.  How the hell was this approved?  Is there not anywhere you can go now where there isnt some convenience store trying to flogg stuff?  How many convenience stores and fast food stores does the city need?

Well done whoever approved this.  Dickheads should be exterminated.
