Even though we probably have enough of it... I should've really said fuel.

It just has to be the day that I decide to bring my camera that the fuel train doesn't happen to be in town.

Does anyone know why the service wasn't in the sidings around 5pm yesterday?

The oil train GENERALLY runs out of Sandown on Monday, Wednesday and Friday night for an early morning arrival on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. In times of low demand it may only run 2 days a week.

Any chance you could be a little more specific on the timing of arrivals on tue/thur/sat?
Would love to catch a glimpse of it trundling in one day...

The shunt generally happens quite early, starting around 4am. Depending on the number of trucks, it can finish anywhere between 8am and 12pm.

So I gather that the rail action in Canberra is the Xplorer plus three oil trains a week.

Nil Intermodal traffic ?
