I've noticed that they've recently re-sleepered the area of the old main-line just behind Mildura Street?
I'd imagine it's the SRA doing it? Does the ARHS join in at all?
Is that section of the old mainline just used for the oil train shunt? It's not like they need high speeds along the track... makes me wonder how bad the condition of it was.
On another note, how much do they actually bother to flatten the rails? Even though they've replaced the sleepers, the rails still seem mighty uneven in some stretches...

The work is done by ARTC (Australian Rail Track Corperation). The South shunt (as it is known) hasn't had any work done to it for a long time, so it is in very poor condition.
