Hi,
I thought this sticky might be useful to people like me, who don't know how to do MSTS modelling . This will hopefully become a thread for hints, tips, help, and a sharing of ideas. If I knew how to do 3D modelling I would payback what I owe hopefully with new models.
Please reply and keep it going,
IC6594

An enormous volume of hints, tips, tutorials and explanations have been posted here and on other websites (Steam4me is a great resource for tutorials), so we generally prefer it if people use the Search function instead

And what a brilliant idea.
If we did have such a section divided up into sub threads i'm sure the experts over the pond start coming here as they have done before on important issues.
I for one am all for it.
It's amazing really, here we have the best resource of tutorials on steam4me
in the world, yet the forum has nothing in this regard.
All those in favour say eye.
Cheers
Ian

I take it that you are in favour Alltrains?
Or a shot at MGH™ and my drinking problems.

No, I'm in favour, the more information that is available for us newby builders the better. I know there is steam4Me and other threads on this site, but there are a lot of pages on this site to search through to get the correct information from those like yourself and the rest of the team-alco and the other experienced builders. I think it would be better if all that information is available on one thread, it would make it easier to find.
One thing I would never do is have a cheap shot at anyones problems as I am not perfect either.

Well, looks like I'm in a minority. I only request that people use this as an index of tips, not a discussion thread about them as it will clutter an otherwise invaluable tool.

Hey Michael,
Go for it.
Throw it around - get some discussion going, understand the need and what is the best solution to get it right first time. I see Railpage Australia™ listening to the users a great step forward and as I said in my other post, I am anticipating a great year of going forward. Good onyer.
You also said you would look at one of my suggestions - any advance on it?
Happy New Year mate.

Hi Yuri welcome back,
I believe what ic6594 is after isn't so much as the tutorials but the help when something goes amiss in the building of the model and it is not covered in the tutorials. As an example, I have a copy of Michael Vone's "Guide To Building Routes" and followed the instructions on building "First Route" through to page 177 where you can change the terrain textures. I followed the instructions in the book but it did not work. I have followed the instruction from the first page word for word so I would need help from others to overcome this situation that is not covered in any tutorials and I feel that this is going to be a good forum for this type of help as it will be all in one place and not spread through out the whole MSTS forums
Cheers
Regards
Russell
