In the earlier days, I believe a Goulburn crew bought the train into Canberra and then took an engine and ran light back to Goulburn, leavi ng the other engine/s for the Canberra crew to shunt the various sidings. Where did the crew come from to take the train back to Sydney?

I seem to recall that return loads crew came Pass or passenger on the midday Deb or whatever into canberra, although and rarely if the return loadings were big enough then a light engine would come with crew
