The other day I booked a pallet of goods to go from outside brisbane to melb by Freight australia, in the belief that it would be good to send it by train. It was also convenient for me to pick up the goods from their kensington yard. I was surprised to hear that it would be coming from Brisbane by truck.

Doesnt any general freight go by train?.

It's not as if it's going faster by truck, Still taking a full week..... ( plus they lost my paperwork in brisbane, meaning another weeks wait.

FA still can't use Acacia Ridge(Brisbane SG yard) yard as far as I know due to the yard is own by Pacific National and it has yet to be open access,

Acacia Ridge Yard is actually owned by QR. Pacific National only has the contract to manage the operational side of the standard gauge yard & thus at this stage have the rights to determine who has access to the standard gauge yard.

The only way that you could do that is if Freight Australia got the wagon into a PN train.

There was an article about this in Digest last year. PN was talking about suing QR if they allow FA in, and FA was talking about calling in the ACCC if they don't.

Cheers

Let the mud fly. In the end it will be on the Governments face!

There is only one way any building or object or structure could collapse strait down. You would have to remove the resistence below it.
The force of the building pushing up is greater than that of the part of the building falling down.

Some years ago I worked in the fast track operation before it passed to Fa and all interstate freight was sent by truck if it was LCL - i.e.less than container load. Obviously things have not changed. The week transit time ensured a cheap rate as it would go on a truck when they needed a top up to fill the truck.
