Does anyone know how I can fix this problem???? Ive done everything from editting the config file to deleting and uploading it again. Theres some good layouts I like and some have this "no map selected" issue. There only layouts I download and only the ones compatible with TRS2006(which ive got).

This is what always comes up when I load the Layout

ok what version of Trainz 2006 do you have ?

if your not sure which build you have next time you load the game and get to the screen that shows driver surveyor etc you will see a build number in the bottom right corner.

why i ask is there are currently two versions of 2006 doing the rounds

2.5 build 2761 this version is as the game appears after you install it for the first time.

2.6 build 3092 this version is achieved by installing Service Pack 1.

A route may show 2006 but it does not show which build be it 2761 or 3092 it was built under. if you are trying to load a map that was built in build 3092 it will give you the error message you have posted here.

here are two links from the auran website that may be of further help regarding your problem.

hope this has been of help for you

Hey

Thought i would use this thread as i am having some what of a similar issue.
The other day i was in surveyor adding some things in my layout i had just saved the layout and about a second after my computer shows the blue screen of death as it does sometimes. This due to my graphics card not really being able to handle some of the frame rates. Anyway i restarted the computer as i would normally do when this happens. When i went into surveyor and clicked on my map i got the NO MAP ERROR. All the other maps are working ok. I left it for a day and tried it again still the same thing.
I searched for the map in content manager and could see it there but was unable to edit it or commit it. After trying to commit it the map no longer shows anymore in surveyor or in content manager.
I also noticed that when in my other maps instead of usually being able to choose the content by region it is all under CUSTOM now and gives me no other options.
Has anyone had this issue or has any idea how to resolve this. Im just hoping i haven't lost the map for good.

I've had these sorts of problems in the past, and found it was to do with an incorrect installation of SP1 for '06 at the time.

(please read the installation guide carefully, domestic blindness affects 2 in every 3 men. Yes we're all guilty of it! Cool)

If you've installed SP1 correctly then I can only suggest you delete the route and start downloading it again, or any of the missing dependencies. Or as a last resort just un-install then re-install Trainz 2006 (not recommended in most cases though Exclamation).

Hey v544,

I had a similar issue with all my maps before and this was resolved by uninstalling and re-installing SP1 correctly. Unfortunately i don't think this will resolve my above issue as all other maps are working ok and SP1 has been installed correctly.

I was thinking about reinstalling everything again. But i think ill wait till i get my new computer which i should be getting in the next month to try that so if i lose anything while doing this at least its backed up on one computer.

Unfortunately i cant reinstall the map as it was a customer route i was building. I had saved a copy of this but only when it was in the early stages of building the route so that would be a last option but it would be pretty hard starting from the begining again.

I still cant figure out how it would of affected my Content as it is still showing everything under custom and doesn't allow me to choose anything else besides CUSTOM.

In regards to the above issue i ended up reinstalling trainz on my new computer. I was able to choose the region again in objects when i reinstalled trainz.
Though i was unable to get my old map back the one that i had lost previously. All my other content worked fine including another map i have been working on I even tried reinstalling trainz on my old computer and still the same. I dont know what happened to the map but it would be great to be able to have it back to the point where i originally lost it.
Still noone has any ideas?

Ok heres what you do to lower you chances of that message...

If you ever have to do a system restore back up your routes. For example if its the 20th and you go to do a system restore to the 18th back up ALL the routes you've loaded in trainz in that time frame. Then when the restore is done put the backed-up copy's back into trainz.[/b]
