Pity you didn’t feel so strongly about copyright infringement when you were releasing other peoples copyrighted MSTS work last year.
It's been sorted. I apologised. Get over it

Not trying to nitpick but is this with all owners of models in question or just Big Ed?

Whoa whoa.... seems a few have read between the lines with this one Evil or Very Mad

I'm not interested in train videos, or plane videos, or anykind of anyone's transport video for the matter, and I find it quite unspoken for that you, squeek, are implying committing such an act.

Your fault for putting them on the WWW. Everyone who posts content on the WWW should know that at any stage they can be ripped off.
I have many videos on YouTube, and it doesn't bother me if one wants to download it for whatever reason. Like anyone else with vids, it's only when their work is edited again or sold that it becomes questionable.

My query stems from me wanting to download a few old Regional TV Station Idents for uni work, as I'm currently doing research on Aggregation (I.e. The expansion/merging of various regional television stations and markets in Australia in the early 90s).

Thanks guys, for posting something useful! Smile

These videos aren't leaving my hard drive. They may make it into the odd Powerpoint Presentation for a class of 20, and they may make the odd viewing to a peer, but that is all. I want to get these videos onto my HD now, so I don't have to incur the download expense when I return to Wagga. If you want to lecture and guilt trip us about Copyright, go for it.

And people actually obey Copyright laws on the Internet Rolling Eyes

Okay, so you will not kick up a stink then if I steal one of your photos of the Hitachi with Connex decals and re-publish it as my own? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

You may download any of my videos for free, they are public domain. The idea is to help people learn, not help lighten their wallets!

Try this URL -> http://www.keepvid.com/

You will be given a link to a .flv Flash Movie file (the native format YouTube uses).

Once you chose to upload a vid to Youtube or Google vids you are basically giving them the copyright to it. Read the Terms & Conditions dipshiit.

Quote:

uploading, sending or otherwise making available Your Authorized
Content to Google, you are directing and authorizing Google to,
and granting Google a royalty-free, non-exclusive right and
license to, host, cache, route, transmit, store, copy, modify,
distribute, perform, display, reformat, excerpt, facilitate the
sale or rental of copies of, analyze, and create algorithms
based on the Authorized Content in order to (i) host the
Authorized Content on Google's servers, (ii) index the
Authorized Content; (iii) display, perform and distribute the
Authorized Content, in whole or in part, in the territory(ies)
designated in the Metadata Form, in connection with Google
products and services now existing or hereafter developed...blah blah blah

The easiest and most simple way to differentiate if you violate copyright rule is if you are going to use the video clip/pic for profit purpose.

I might point out to you two that people have always been able to save still photos from the internet to their hard drive, yet no one gets worked up about that. Why should videos be different? Once you upload something to the internet you must accept that people will download it. Just be nice and polite and it's no problem.

I'm using the VideoDownloader Firefox Add-in as well - leech all the videos I want when I am in lectures at uni, then watch them on the train home. Razz

Anyway - if you are worried about people ripping off your 'stuff' and putting it on DVDs - don't worry. YouTube is only a smeggy 320x260 pixel in size and low bitrate - it looks bad enough on a 2 inch screen, let along a proper TV.

There is only one way any building or object or structure could collapse strait down. You would have to remove the resistence below it.
The force of the building pushing up is greater than that of the part of the building falling down.
