Who's bright idea was this paint job? In this day and age of high visibility, why would you paint something in a dark grey colour?
The blue and yellow livery was just superb. It weathered well, looked very refined. While the overall colour was dark, the two yellow stripes contrast quite well with the dark blue and make it stand out. The red on the wooden cars wasn't too bad and certainly was quite visible.
While I think the original tangerine and silver stripe livery was rather hideous and very 80's, I quite liked the later version with the orange sides, grey roof and white & green stripes below the window lines. This combination of bright colours was also one of the most highly visible liveries, even at night.
I never really liked the red with white stripe at window line, but at least it was still reasonably visible with the broad white stripe and it grew on me over the years.
This livery is just plain horrible. It's dull, not even remotely high vis and I think it will become a dirty brown/grey colour once a bit of road grime gets onto it. It's certainly not a colour that would make me want to travel in that carriage.
