I'd love to go on my first Gunzel trip, but I'm not sure how a 12 year old is going to get 44 bucks.  Laughing

But Lionel, I'll probably see you at TOTG

Cheers

I have been thinking of doing a similar trip for some time but I will pass on this one. Don't fancy the idea of spending 11.5 hours around annoying gunzels, plus I might be up in the Blue Mountains around that time.

Not to mention of course I would not do such a trip unless I was staying at Kyneton at the time.

I'll be at the SRHC Tastes of the Goulburn. Heritage takes precedence.

I'm not going to Swanhill until they have finished the refurbishment of the station and if i did go i'd go on Sunday when i have more time to go look around the town. Just make sure when you are going to kerang to get off on either car A, B or C as cars D and E(if it is a VN set don't fit on the platform (i think).

Sounds like a rather dull trip to me actually. TOTG for me too Very Happy

Metro Transit why not go on a different weekend and make it a day trip to Echuca OR Swanhill instead of both.

Seriously, for those who have never explored the Albury line, why not do it at the TOTG? Take the 0813 Albury train to Seymour, arrive into Seymour at 0920, enjoy the old Seymour station for about 40 minutes and watch the heritage train shunt into the platform.

Hop on the first shuttle to Avenel which will set you back about $8.00, leaves at about 10am IIRC. and head back to the station for all the festivities. It's an awesome day out. Eat Drink and be Merry!

If you don't like the early start, SRHC will be running shuttles every hour from 10am til 4pm. $21.80 first class full fare or economy $15.80. Or if you have a concession card, $17.20 first class or $11.20 economy.

Aye. Grog and T classes sound better than coaches and pretty much nothing.

I am going to the Tastes of the Goulburn Festival.

I may be getting the 0813 Albury train to Seymour, but I will not be paying $11.20 economy, instead I will be using a Craigieburn to Seymour daily ticket ($4.90) and my weekly zone 1 ticket to get to Seymour from Melbourne.

I shall be coming along to the TOTG too, but I shall be catching the 1053 Seymour instead, I much enjoy sleeping in for longer and the chance to ride a Velocity on the seymour line which I haven't done before.

Sorry to go off topic but I had a look on the SRHC and Steamrail websites but they didn't say, where exactly are the Tastes of Goulburn shuttles running to/from?
