There's still something amiss here. Byrock to Brewarrina did not close in the mid or late 80s; it closed in 1974 (as someone else said on the previous page). Yes, I should have specified in my previous answer that there were only two branches still in existence in the mid to late 80s rather than just leaving that part ot be understood.

So are we still looking for another branch closed by flooding in the 80s or do we just accept that Newington has screwed up?

It was the blue training car (FZ 507 I think) that sat for many years in the east dock at Parkes. In the last few months the car has been moved to the road behind the silo at Parkes and the east dock filled in. Even more recently the car has been wrapped, although whether that serves any useful purpose is yet to be established.

The car was mentioned and a photo posted in the thread about old wagons still floating around.

just letting everyone know that i Started a quiz like this in the Northern Territory Forum for all things to do with the Northern Territory Railways and the Commomweath Railways for eg: like the Darwin railway to Pine Creek and the Alice to Pt Augusta old narrow guage line

Ok then for my first ever attempt at this quiz here is my Question:

What preserved steam loco built before 1924 still retains its original number inside its 1924 number?

Correct authority was obtained for all photographs in rail corridor and depots. note that some are taken from the cab.
