Well it seems many existing stops in the median of the East Burwood route b/w Toorak Rd and Blackburn Rds will be getting upgraded to SUPERSTOP status. The project's website says there will be 10 stops that are super stops... but only 6 on the new extension, so i'm guessing four will be between Warrigal & Blackburn Rds.
I think the following stops will be those 4 superstops:
-61 (PLC)
-63 (Deakin Uni)
-66 (Middleborough Rd/Burwood East Plaza)
-68 (Busy suburban stop outside child care centre)
Cant wait for construction to start.... it wont open on time though.

There's still hope it may get funding to go to Knox City, or at least i'd like to hope so. It's all over the Leader Newspapers there, apparently.

We all have them, but you can only see your own. Their basically a thing that monitors how well your behaving... once it reaches 100%, youre out I think...
Vermont wont get to Knox anytime soon I doubt.

They really, REALLY need to include a slight rearrangement of the stations on the Alamein Line to allow a vertical interchange at Burwood/Hartwell if this tram is to go much further out of town.

Burwood Station should be closed. Hartwell Station should be relocated to Toorak Road.
And if possible, relocate Willison further south.

Hmmm...
I think Burwood should be rebuilt closer to Toorak Road, and Willison closed to be honest, or only have every 3rd train stop there.
With the Vermont Extension, I think many of the stops between Warrigal and Blackburn Roads need to be upgraded. The ones I think most likely to recieve superstops I mentioned in the 1st post.
I think stops that are unlikely to be majorly upgraded still need improved safety. Somers Street (nfi what stop#) is quite dangerous. If you get out of a City bound tram there, it really is quite risky crossing the trackis if you cant see past the tram you just got off. I think the pedestrian crossing there should be moved to the western end of the tram stop.
I think the stop on Elgar Rd/Burwood HWY corner needs better fencing and resurfacing too.

Personally I favor another option for the extension of the tram line past Vermont. The line should continue on but branch left at Mountain Highway, continue on to Bayswater and then on to Boronia North, turning right at Albert Avenue down to Boronia Road and then back up Boronia road to the junction with Mountain Highway.
That would be an awesome extension.
cheers Peter

Hmmm, I think there'd be more patronage if it went to Knox City. Knox is one of the biggest shopping complexes in town and would serve more people.
Does anyone know who the bidders for the construction were???

The first tram line in Zone 3... Hey they'd have to change the ticket machines! But I guess it won't happen before the ticketing system is replaced anyway.
Happy Gunzelling and remember, "Go by rail!"

Hmmm, perhaps. For all we know the new ticket system may end up coming before Vermont!

Springvale Road is the boundary of Zone 2 and 3. The extension to Vermont South isn't far past the boundary, and will most likely be run as Zone 2. However the line to Knox will probably be ticketed with Zone 3, it's still possible it might only be Zone 2.

The extension is planned to be run with B2s. Originally it was to get the 10 planned 3-section B2s but this isn't going ahead anymore.
