The "upgrade" works at Oakleigh Station have started.  

The recently completed bike/walking track has been closed, the new fences pulled down, new paving dug up, recently re paved carpark closed (f ...

During the weekends closure (17/18) We had a works train carrying lots of old sleepers near Oakleigh station with S312, T385 and B75 - seemed to do nothing from Sat morning until late Sat night.

This site seems a little quiet on this, but the second Snow train with R711 & R761 leading a very big, sold out tour from Melbourne to Traralgon with trips from Moe to the snow at Baw Baw or Walhalla  ...

Hi Crossover - Dandenong is a "new" station. It was rebuilt in 1995.

I agree it was done badly.  It is shabby and the design looked "aged" when it opened.  Not built to last.

Today is a shocker on the Pakenham line.  The variously blamed a sick passenger at Dande, train at Pakenham, fault at Yarraman, congestion & signal fault.  Later "a faulty signal Oakleigh-Hughesdale". ...

So Murrumbeena station is reopened after months of closure. LXRA are closing Carnegie and Hughesdale stations.  Carnegie for a month (this time) and Hughesdale until "mid 2018".

This reflects badly ...

I travel from Hallam daily and normally stand both ways - about an hour (timetabled at 50 mins).  Pakenham line trains are full in peak times.
