Apologies ... the S & Z cars on the gauge kept their Art Deco font (though with modified positioning) ... I think? The VAC & VAM cars were perhaps an exception, keeping their Art Deco ...

The Vinelander wasn't always a long train ... sometimes just AZ, BZ, MRS, 2x sleepers, CE van & motorail ...

Also, no need for Z cars on the Ballarat pass ... they were pretty much exclusive to ...

I'm yet to find any images that show the art deco lettering on S cars made it into the 1970s. A far more learned VR modeler advised that the art deco lettering was discontinued in the early  ...

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that "Broadford" uses Shinohara Code 70 for both broad & standard gauge.
