You put the tags backwards, the [img] tag should be at the front, [/img] should be at the back.

As Below:

Code:

The station sign for 'Quondong' has been preserved on a property just out of town.

I know the bloke who owns it. Old teacher of mine. Story goes that the sign was in bad condition in storage somewhere at the Weddin shire council. He got it from them then him and a mate of his fixed it up to use it as his property sign

I see the turntable is another Sellers-built one. Where is it currently being stored? Doesn't look like it's near the station...

Thanks,
Rolfe

As do I - he is a family friend!

What's physically stopping a train running out there anyway? I heard two bridges burnt down back up the line, would some of the level crossings be tarred over?

I was told LVR once had a plan to restore that section of line, true or false?

hi

A) yes the turntable is at a different location it was sold along with the cranck crane to LVR then was brought back by the Grenfell shire. it is now at a Gravel quarry near the Grenfell racecourse.

B) the line is extremly Dangerous for any train or trike But if some how a runnaway train occoured the only thing that would be a Problem is Tree's bad points and a few tarred crossings and just near greenthorpe there is about 100ft of the line ripped up.

if anyone wants more info about anythings feel free to PM or post me.

hi

I forgot to answer a couple of Questions

A) I have never heard that LVR had a plan of restoring a part of the line but at one stage the local lions club had a plan to reopen the line my guess is that LVR was probly going to help out with the idea.

B) I followed the whole of the line from Grenfell to Grenthorpe a couple weeks back and all bridges were there but not burnt in anyway wheather they were rebuilt I dont know.

No, they were aquired by the Midstate Railway Museum and setup in Cowra. About 15 years later they were sold to the Weddin Shire Council.

sorry you are correct albert
it was the midstate railway museum that owned the turntable not LVR.
