Don there was a book years ago, i'm sure it was written by the late Tom Cooley, i think thats his name, that had almost a history of trains here in tassie. I think it was first published in the mid-late 70s!
Most other books are a pictorial of the locos that ran during the TGR/AN Tasrail eras.

Perhaps its time to get a new books of the history of railways in tassie. I can imagine how thick it would be!

EDIT: Perhaps email the fellas that run ARHS Tasmania, and ask them. They will be very helpful, might tell you how and where to gain any books about the History of Railways in Tasmania. There email adress is arhs@railtasmania.com

i have two books to do with tas.
1. The Abt Railway- covers the whole of the west coast railway covering from the starting, the many owners/companys and it today. oh and manya pictures. All in all an excellent book(109 pages written by Lou Rae)

2. Ghost Railways of Australia
This book covers the whole country but has small sections on the tas line.
It has a good bit about the Bellerive-Sorell line a good few pages(pics), The Zeehan line, and The TAsman Limitied- It arrived too late another good few pages n detail about this service.

theyre my 2 books and most definitely worth looking into.

I think its the last vacuum cement trains in the 90s. Pretty sure some of the QE cement wagons had them.
