I seem to recall the occasional bogie cement hopper on one of the down sidings; sometimes a government BRH/HRH type, but often one or another of the privately own CPC.21 and CPC.22 wagons. These later became NPDF.3421 and NPDF.3422, or NPDF.3421-P and NPDF.3422-B if one includes the check-letter suffix. Both of these vehicles are now listed as items within the Dorrigo collection.

The first St Leonards station was north of the Pacific Highway on the land generally used for the current station. Some years ago, the second station was located south of the Pacific Highway. In more recent times, the station was moved back to its current location.

The original St Leonards station dates from around 1890, the extension from St Leonards through Bay Road (now Waverton) to the first Milsons Point station at Lavender Bay opening in 1893. The first Milsons Point station was located on the land where the two northern pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge now stand. The second Milsons Point station was located on the land now occupied by Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool. The third Milsons Point station ended up becoming North Sydney Car Sidings (hence the mounds of earth between some of the tracks). The fourth Milsons Point station, of course, is the existing one on the Bridge's northern approach.

There is a photograph in "Australian Railway History", April 2005, p.140 showing the opening ceremony at the first Milsons Point station on 1 May 1893.
