Hi
RMS2360 has been undergoing a heavy cleaning process to restore it to its original condition. The RMS is planned to be part of the ARHS (ACT Div) Mid-West Explorer tour as a sitting car as the kitchen is undergoing an upgrade to make it usable for the Societies activities.
The ARHS (ATC Div) hopes to have a tour to Melbourne before the end of the year. Smile[/img]

See loco section for further commentary, but i have added a couple of photos of RMS2360 decked out as an 'aurora' car again.

I would like to see ARHS ACT and RTM jointly run an authentic Southern Aurora recreation, i.e. a full 14 car train in an authentic formation and running on or as close as possible to the original 13 hour schedule.

Cheers

That's not an RTM car. It's a privately owned lounge car.

Cheers

There has been brief discussion between key players of The RTM and ARHS ACT about running a train comprising all three RMS dining cars.

The ARHS ACT also planes to have the MHN ruining in the very near future (as soon as I get the time to work on it.)

For more Pics of the RMS and other cars on and around different ARHS ACT tours and in the different stages of restoration please check out my Photo Gallery

EL, You might not like TA501 but a private car means extra income in what is probably a very limited heritage passenger market, it should be encouraged.

pv is right in the respect that in a fairly limited market for passengers, all extra income at very little extra effort is very welcome to heritage operators. The tours that the ARHS ACT run, reguarly have a private attached car on the end of the train (BAM 1738.)
