NR15/NR87 on 7PM5 out of Kewdale today. An alarm from the out of gauge detector meant the train had to back into the yard which blocked Daddow Rd crossing for some time. Many cars decided to drive around the boom gates... one day a train will come through on the main at full speed and clean one of them up.

Craig, on Wednesdays, the IP shoots through Midland at 1215 and 9 times out of 10, PacNat's PM5 is hot on the heals. Usually goes through amber signals at Midland right after the IP.

Last time I headed out there, I got 3 trains in 10 minutes on a Wednesday! Very Happy

Thanks for the info, unforunately it arrived after i had left...

for the record, i saw 2312, westbound with a loaded grain consist, between Avon and Toodyay, around 11:55am. a while later, PM5 rolled into Avon, closely followed by the IP, about 5 mins behind. the lead NR on PM5 was smoking like it's alco origins do, wonder how long before they do something about it???? i've noticed quite a few GE's with this problem, unless it is just because they have not had there Major overhauls yet..

Nice! haha..mate, you should see the IP depart from East Perth with an NR on it. Some of them REALLY smoke it up big time and sound great. Its a typical GE problem with the big smoke ups. I have a mpg I downloaded off a US site of a Norfolk Southern Dash9 blowing a turbo charger, shooting 2ft tall flames into the air and filling the sky with black smoke!
