I'll be making a trip down south around mid-January, and I've got a few days free around the Hobart area; a trip to the Glenorchy Museum, Ida Bay Railway, Don River, and the Launceston workshops is on the cards [and hopefully a trip on DVR if they reopen in time].

I was hoping some of you guy's could help me with approximate train times, knowing full-well that in three months the entire system could be turned upside down, and also some good spots to see those trains from.

Liam in sunny Sydney.

I'm not too sure on PNT train times (I have been told but keep forgetting). The Don River Railway opens 9 to 5, trains run on the hour from 10 til 4.

All Tasmania's preservation societies have been kicked off the mainline, so dont bet on a trip on the DVR, unless some miracle happens over Xmas.

I'm a volunteer at DRR, in the workshops on Saturdays. Make sure to make yourself known if you coome on a Saturday.

Give it a couple of weeks to get my drafts sorted out and the page
http://www.railtasmania.com/info/whereto.php
will be updated with whatever the current timetable is.

The July 07 comment at the top still applies
