Went to take some photos of the paper train heading through Western Junction today, and saw something i had not seen for a while, 2100 & 2101 on the same train.

was not 100% happy with the photos i got at WJ (was looking for a different spot) so i decided to follow it out to Conara, where they attatched some coal wagons & an interesting combination was formed as the 2 ZA's were also attached, which are not compatible with the other locomotives (this sort of consist was mentioned in the latest TRN)

unfortunately i was unable to get a departure shot as my battery died in the digi Sad

anyway the tassie forums have been a bit quiet of late, maybe this will liven things up again.

(oh and sorry about my photos, they are a bit on the dodgy side as i was playing around with the settings)

I think it has been a while since the 2 uglies have been together.

What were the ZA loco numbers ?

Saturday's 43 had 2116 and 2117 (which was playing up) so I am interested to see if they swapped it out

It seems that these two locos were together more recently than first thought.

2100,2101 and 2021 were photographed on 31 at Campania on the 13/1/2005

Ok it has happened again, D2021( i think)-2100-2101 are or were on the paper train last and this week. I did notice 2100 sounding a little different and also when notched up a bit of smoke near the fan on Monday morning

this is correct, here they are crossing the Longford viaduct on Monday:

and again at Powranna

i also saw this same combination run light engine from Western Junction to Conara Junction (where they added a string of log and container wagons) last Thursday...

....

also, people may have noticed it has been a bit quiet of late.

the heavy rain and flooding that we experienced in the north created a huge hole underneath the track at the northern end of Railton yard. drove past this morning took one photo of the works going on - will upload it later.

the Conara-Devonport coal train is stabled at Devonport yard, fortunately this has not effected the cement train operations (or so it seems). however it has been rather quiet on the rails!

Also its rare to see Pine logs on the train too.

All this rain i thought that Deloraine would be the main cause with the flood. It was a shocking road trip on Tuesday, a lot of walter near some railway.

OK, the works going on at Railton...

2005_Sep02_008 (Railpage Image Gallery)

as you can see there is a bit of a gap but it is hard to tell what they have done and what the water has done, either way - its not safe enough for trains to travel across!

And the coal train stabled at Devonport...

Guess what Jeff, i could of posted a pic of them leaving Burnie up, but i decided to send 3 off to TRN mag Razz I was quite shocked when i saw them leave Burnie actually, thought something happen during the night.
Also its the first time they have run like this too, they mostly have one other loco with them.

Also train 35 will have only 2 locos too, 2115-2112(or 2113*)

* couldn't see this loco it was parked down the Burnie yard
