Hi all,

I've set up a new fotopic site covering a favorite past time of mine - finding old remains of past railways and sidings. I use past and current photos where possible to show the changes at these sitses.

See them here at

http://westaustralianrailarchaeology.fotopic.net/

The first few collections include the Meckering sleeper depot, Loongana lime works and some shots of the Kalgoorlie woodlines.

As I have many blanks in information, any assistance to correct or update what I've got would be greatly appreciated. Naturally I will credit any info used to your good self. Very Happy

Cheers

Cris

Keep up the good work Chris.

The goldfields have a very rich rail history and it's great to see your efforts on the net.

Cheers Smile

Cris its good to see the start of your webpages pickin a topic I do not think I have seen covered before in W.A.
P2014 Its good to see you join the ranks of the photographers, your namesake loco worked a grain into Geraldton Port this afternoon at around 1.15pm as yet not renumbered.

Great to see these sites P 2014.

I was working in Gero in the late 1990's. Are the lines into the back of CBH / State Brickworks still there????? They were then but I didn't get any photos!!!! Also is there much track left at Webberton / CSBP??

there is still a fair bit left on privat property of those sidings the track the goes across past BP is still the but the crossings to Shell and BP have been removed only in the last 5 or so years i got a picture of the removed crossing to the Shell siding
http://p2014.fotopic.net/p36000891.html
and the track the goes past BP with the points that used to go across to the old CBH and the other ot caltex and bp and maybe Geraldton Building Company (GBC) is this the track you mean http://p2014.fotopic.net/p36000890.html
hope this helps

Interesting work, P2014.

I remember when smalls traffic, cement, timber and livestock were loaded or unloaded at Utakarra - all in the one siding!
