Gee, i thought the crown stay would be fixed by now, since the pics i took ages ago.

What about the other steam locos Andrew, the fowler, M4 and Dubs?

There was one stay that was undersize, so another stay had to be turned to fit. Just this weekend the stay was welded in.

Fowler- Main bearing problems on the rear driver.

Dubs- Hasn't been touched since we put it away on the Thomas day. Will probably be a while til she sees the light of day again. The front driver will probably need to be dropped out to be worked on. Steam ticket has also expired.

M4- Approx. half the stays on the driver's side have been re-welded, but the welder has gone to PNG to work, so this project has come to a halt. The horn plates of the axleboxes need to be inspected/replaced too IIRC.

MA2- Might as well go pour the concrete plinth now... This loco is in for mid term storage, with major firebox repairs needed

Damn, thats a bugger about M4. Hope a boiler maker/welder is handy asap! They need a mainline steamer ready for action.
MA2, looks like it will never return to the rails. Do you know what the fire box problem is Andrew?. Is it as bad as M3's firebox?

I suppose DRR will concentrate on CCS25, to get the beauty up in great running order before they do more work on M4, which i can understand.

Any pics perchance Brodie? It'd be nice to have our Y up and going, but that's on the back burner until we can get a steam loco up and running.

Sorry champ, would of but only seen it as we were driving past.

Well damien must have won lotto and is going to pay the 250 odd thousand for public insurance!

M4 would look good out on the mainline, certainly wont have any carriages to pull, unless he's paying to fix them up to standard as well!!!!

I think Jeff would agree that it will be very unlikely to get back out on the mainline again.

Some of the images i took today at TTMS. The camer'as battery went flat when i was transfering them to the computer. All i can say, C22 looks great, great to see its nearly back in service. Also, great to see the old girl, X1.

Anyway here we go.
C22

X1.

Y4.

Q5, only one left of the class

And last, the little Ruston shunter.

She looks quite the loco now, went there yesterday after work. Almost looks too good to fire up, it'll lose that nice gloss!

Apparently all that is really left it the gauge's to be refitted/glazed and an injector fitted, maybe something else that passes me.

I was told that the railcar was meant to be running today, but i didn't see it come out of the shed while i was at footy.

Well, DP26 looked quiet in the shed when i walked past it!. I thought today was a train running day. Perhaps not.

Next time i'm down there, hopefully Stuart is there and can pull both Y4 and X1 out of the roundhouse. Thats roundhouse is a shocker to get pics, specially when the clouds roll in, like today!
