Car Wrecked In Townsville Train Smash
Jessica Johnston
22 May, 2008
A MAN who walked away from his wrecked car after it collided with a train at Bluewater was more concerned about the welfare of the Sunlander's 100 passengers.
NO ONE HURT ... The driver walked away after his car was wrecked in the collision with the Sunlander.

There are some problems with the signalling at Bald Hills on the Caboolture Line this evening. CityTrain #1187 is currently stopped on the Middle Road at NM177 (Carseldine). The Driver has relesaed so that people can stretch their legs. The train passed several other trains 'parked' on the Down Main Line on their way to Carseldine. Crews are working on the probelm now and the train should be able to depart in ten minutes.
It even made news!

QR 1734D was over in the Redbank LMD yesterday and has been down here for about three weeks now. It has grey paint on the side of the cab. Does anyone know what has happened?

Today's down Sunlander was seen passing through Garbutt East at 10:07 (about 90 minutes late). 2822 was leading, followed by dead loco 2192F (it appears that 2192F failed at some stage). This is the first time I've seen a 2800 on the mail train in about 8 years!
2151D followed on a down Cobarra nickel approximately 8 minutes later.

Did the "QUT Smart Train" leave Brisbane on Sunday Afternoon/Evening?
The trouble with trouble is that it starts with fun...

Saw something out of the norm today this evening at cairns central they had on the sundlander a 28 & 21 class leading the charge wasn't very nice being stuck while they ran around as their tran was to long for the station platform but was nice to see them up the front.

Doug: Apparently 2192F failed between Orkabie & Ilbilbie and 2822 was pulled from a freight to rescue the Sunlander.

Thanks for the info Graham. I had a suspicion all along that the Clyde had failed somewhere in the middle of the sticks...
