Welcome to what is it.
This is just like Where is it in the other state forums, but this is on Locomotives & Rolling Stock around Australia. Either a whole lococarriage or a part
on one and the person guess's the correct number/class member and or name of something, Carriage type, lettering or number code get's to put up one of there own, and so on like that, the winner always get's to put up he's or her's picture next.

O.K to start off with. A real simple one, what is it?

When you PM'd me yesterday asking about starting a "What is it" I just KNEW what you first picture would be! I'm surprised nobody else considered the obvious. Smile

This one is a bit trickier.

Nope. Try working out exactly what the object in the picture is. This will lead you to at least the type of vehicle.

Yes! Specifically it's a brand new Valenta sitting on the floor at ABB Dandenong in 1992. It was put into the shell of XP2016 a few days later.

Over to you.

44211 or a certain SMR. And given that SMRs don't have diesel engines the former it must be.
