I thought I might create this thread as a catalyst for some of us users who are looking for particular items of interest, and want to make their search known publically.
My recent endeavour to acquiring former HO passenger stock from old mate Chipps (Makes me feel like a TransitJim that's achieving something!) has made me more eager in trying to find more items of interest.
So, for categories/guidelines for posting Wanted 'adverts'....
-Use Bold text for the actual advert
-Preferrably this thread should only be used for model railway collectables, such as specific carriages/locomotives that are hard to find through retail and/or mail-order means. For other items like locomotives, carriages, kits, etc that are currently avaliable, a specific thread about it should be ok.
-State clearly your location in terms of suburb and state.
-State your desired condition of the item (Most would rather good condition, although some like myself don't mind it in rooted condition).
-State your desired price to pay for the item and any terms of negotiation
-Email address and/or preferred contact. (Use discretion when posting mobile phone numbers here).
-After you have acquired your desired item, it's best to remove the post wanting it. Otherwise, you can seek the assistance of a moderator to remove all posts concerning your complete transation.
Also, be serious about your purchase. This thread is for people who are really actively seeking an item and have the funds to immediately make the purchase. Do not post WANTED items that are mainly pipedreams that you'll oneday get when you have the money and the layout.
If one were to have an item in question, and wanted to get rid of it to you, the avenue for that is to contact them by their preferred means, and then the rest is done on the basis of negotiation as a private sale (And in no terms, is Railpage Australia responsible for anything in this transaction).
I'm sure in future, there can be a thread for people selling items, and hopefully it shall be made on the basis that it conforms to Railpage's Advertising Policy ( http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t3052.htm )
