Hello
Me and two other people have decided to release our first route, city circle V1

It starts at Redfern and a bit of the north shore line to north sydney.

It will be uploaded on train-sim.com.

Thank You

Hi Renolds a bit of advise......
If its a bit shonky put it in the recycle bin and start again BUT this time learn from what mistakes you made in RE and dont repeat those mistakes.

Some people are on Dial up and their bandwidth is very precious so downloading a shonky route can be both time consuming and ultimately disapointing when they see what is the product that they have just downloaded and it is as you say shonky.

Uploading a shonky route will also affect your credibility and people will avoid your products in future plus probably have a little snigger when they see any new products with your name on it.

Belive me doing routes and trains will not make you famous or win the adulation from MSTS users so if this is a motive in hurrying the route forget about it.
Revenge now thats different but if this is a motive then the route would have to be up to payware standard so it better be damn Terrific.

"You have to do this for yourself be at one with the RE grasshopper"
When you can snatch the pebbles from Bill Gates/kuju's hand only then will you truely be a master!

practice, practice and practice more until you get a product that is bullet proof doesnt crash every 5 mins, looks right and runs as expected.
Also dont forget the testing regime a couple of runs down the track do not a good test make.
This takes months with a good team of beta testers who have to be almost bastards in their truth about what they like and dont like about the route.
You have to have skin as thick as a rhinos hide to take all the "oh this isnt right or that doesnt work" but ultimately if you listen to your testers and act upon their feedback you will have a route that will be worthy of adding to the MSTS collective.
Cheers Ed

Have you used Demex and DEMs for the terrain or has it been left flat?

Cheers,
David.

Why not DEM the terrain and save yourself a hell of a lot of work! The end result is also much more realistic, and it's sooooooo easy.

I've got some space, but how big is the route?

Installed, the route is about under 90megs.
Should be 40megs when compressed.

Thanks snowy,
I had sent an e-mail to Youri, and he is interested in looking at the route once it is finished better get a move on but not in a rush.

Still some track work to fix up, signals to be placed in and the track to be electrified.
As well as more buildings to be built on the harbour and the more water in the harbour.
Evenleigh Yards sheds and other buildings yet to be placed in.

The screenshots of the route so far look pretty good in my opinion. Whilst suburban routes really aren't my proverbial cup of tea, I wish you all the best in putting out a potentially great route.

Mr. Anderson... surprised to see me?
