Congratulations to RP users Fireman Dave, Duffy and Gavin (and any others that ive forgot) for the restoration of the engine 7401.
Being a little known engine, she has generally escaped under the radar against all the other great restorations that are going on around the place.
Hopefully, will be able to place up some photos of the restoration of her components etc. in due course.
Well done to all involved.
Cheers,
M

0-4-0 with central cab, yellow livery, not sure of HP, have to ask Monday, Gavin or Fireman Dave for that and she was built by the Pettibone Muliken Foundry, forget when though.
We were tossing around the idea of having some replica builders plates made up and selling them on ebay, given her uniqueness.

Hmmm, considering the size and physics of her, I would suggest that her pulling power is in the vicinity of around 100-120 hp.
Obviously not a main liner (Im no NSW loco buff - I believe she was only one in the class - maybe Fireman Dave can clarify?) but she's good on the shunt, particularly with small wagons, the odd carriage or two ... (and even obstinent track machinery)

I assure you there is nothing FISHy about 7401. ARHS is currently in shutdown so photos won't be forthcoming until after New Years probably

Unfortunately, Im about 1200kms away from her at the moment. Will put up some photos when im back in the ACT.
I dont why see you should particularly get excited about it. Its not exactly a big event, such as the type one would expect like the restoration of 3830 for example. Its a little engine that is not likely to venture outside the yard.
The other thing is that unlike others out there in the big wide world of TR's in oz, as we largely get forgotten about in the ACT, sometimes its nice to acknowledge the hard work put in by volunteers. Sometimes the glory isnt there to be had, but a good job definately deserves acknowledgement.
