QR 2819 arrived in Grafton this afternoon on MB7 as third unit behind EL57-EL56. The unit was detached from the train and left in the yard. It is presumed it is here also for crew training but for how long is unknown. Unfortunately it was parked behind sugar wagons which made it very hard to get a photo. Hopefully I will be luckier tomorrow if it is still here.
Cheers Ron

Passed through Wyong on the 15.3.06 on BM7. It was D/A.

According to a report on Ausloco, 2819 is heading south on BM7 right now. Apparently it will be detached at Junee (for ground instruction I guess?).

EDIT: It is now 330am. 6BM7 was due Moss Vale 0224/0230 (?) to arrive Junee 0720/0724 (quick shunt that). Not yet sighted so over an hour late if anybody going to try a get to it!

AN UPDATE: 6BM7 through Macarthur at 0430 (3hrs 36mins late). If schedule is right and it sticks to it Moss Vale 0600 Goulburn 0657 would make it Junee at 1056. Give or take 20-30 minutes for bad scheduling or possible crosses.

When it came out of Redbank it still had the DTC installed and working.. Looks as though it has been taken out as there are radios now in its place. Any word if the ATP has been removed from the cab? I noticed a pair of narrow gauge 2800 class bogies on a flat wagon out the front of Redbank shops the other day, maybe the ones from 2819 keeping them handy in case the trial is a failure..

As of yesterday, the test area has been extended to include the Main South. Still not allowed to lead.

Is it my imagination or does 2819 seem to be riding higher on standard gauge bogies than it did on narrow gauge bogies?

Now you mention it, I think it does look pretty high in that 3/4 shot, but I think that the more pronounced bogies may just be giving that illusion, because the pilot isn't too far off the track.
