What a good idea, list up where track work is happening. Keeps the sightings thread for sightings only.
Anyway, notice on the western line between Penquin and Ulverstone, the odd bit of rail and sleeper with a few white painted tags. Does mean work is about to happen?
Also i think rail has been replaced in east Ulverstone, near the caravan park.

When I left on Friday there were approximately 9 track machines in the yard at Mayne which I am told are coming down to Tasmania.

Remember,
The light at the end of the tunnel could very well be an on-comming train!

Any photos?
Maybe Asciano is trying to increase the sale price of the Tasmanian network.
Bring the 3900s back to Brisbane
Bring Karlsruhe Tramtrains to Australian cities
Extend the proposed Metro to Taylor Square
Extend the Gold Coast line to the Tweed

"Maybe Asciano is trying to increase the sale price of the Tasmanian network."
The only infrastructure Asciano own is the Melba Line. QR with Van Ek have the contract to undertake the second stage of capital works on the active Tasmania Railway Network. The Crown own the active and inactive networks and have full control over the implementation of capital works. Asciano are only responsible for management and maintenance of the active network.

Has anyone seen what Asciano's head Peter Rosethorn has been paid in salary / bonus ! and Asciano is posting a loss.
Would dam near be enough to rebuild the whole Tassie rail system , and they also want handouts from State Governments to keep PN working as is !
Been told by a driver who works for PN Rural & Bulk in Melbourne that they are now only working 3 days a week. The place is stuffed.
Toll / Asciano are realy making a hash of things around the place.
