Curious, guys.

How does money for this work? Do the schools pay for it, does the ARHS put them on for the benefit of the schools or is it a little from column A or a little from column B?

Or none of the above?

It is an excellent concept in any case. How often have you guys been doing it?

It's actually still school holidays in the ACT. The trains are run by the ARHS with no subsidies, and if people want to travel they show up, pay their money and go for a train ride. We've been running during the holidays (usually once a week to Bungendore) for a couple of years.

Ok, so it is more like a local shuttle operation than an actual designated school excursion thing.

Nice to see 1210 out in any case.

I was going to come down to have a look and try for a couple of shots, but the weather forecast and how it looked here this morning put me off that idea. Then lunchtime sunshine at Moss Vale Bang Head . I suppose the sun shone all day down there did it Question

Beautiful day in Canberra, bit of a breeze though. The Shuttles were apparently quite successful BTW.

I'm gonna play the NOTA line, so you'll have to wait for Duff Duff I'd say.

Sorry, Duff-Duff was busy admiring the countryside, the countryside we set on fire, the 212-odd ton load, the white wheel centres and the super driver at work so mo piccies from today. 2 of the three trains were around 90% full and the third was just under 50%. Engine performed well (aside from the Niagra falls). Looks like these will become a permanent school holiday fixture.

Cheers
