I keep getting the same error message as posted above during installation. It says that it downloads completely.. A fix may be required Yuri?

2,400+ downloads already since release tells me that a fix is not required.

There does seem to be a handful of machines on which the ENVfiles are not copied across in spite of the fact that the command lines are present in the installme.bat file - a fix (above) has been suggested. The installers were intensively tested before release and are in fact clones of my successful Adelaide, Central West, Ballarat, Blue Mountains and Illawarra route installers collectively which have had over 30,000 downloads.

Overnight I've just redownloaded and run the full and "in parts" installer on an XP Professional machine, an XP Home pre-SP2 machine and a Win98 machine.

Both installers worked perfectly on all machines, so I'm unable to replicate your issue.

I think in my case it is a PC specific problem. I will start from scratch and let you know how I go. Thanks for the info.

Problem solved and ready to play. Yes, I had forgotten to check the size of the files after download. My PC likes to play up when it sits too long during downloads.
Thanks to All

G'day Dusty,

It's comments like the one from Alltrains that make me reluctant to post here very often, when all you were saying was you are unsure of the area.

Mate talk to big_ed and I am sure he will help you out as he is a top bloke and you won't cop sarcasm..

Russell's Great southern is up to his usual high standard and brilliant probably describes it best. Downloaded installed it and run without a hitch.

Well Done Russell

Sorry to say this but I can't get this to work. I keep getting the message "Train World Initialisation Failed".

Train World Initialization Failed" means something is missing/corrupted in the \envfiles folder, so you could try
(a) running the installme.bat file again in case it skipped some files (the copy commands for the ENVfiles ARE present in the .bat file) or
(b) copying the \envfiles folder from \train simulator\template to see if that fixes it.

The Envfiles folder should contain 13 files dated 05-2001, the ENVfiles textures folder should have 24 files.

Sorry, I've tried both of those methods and it still doesn't work.

Have you got the 6 default routes installed?
You MUST have the 6 default routes in your route folder.
Is your installation in a miniroute or the default?

Are your installers the correct size as per the route web page in size?
If not redownload and ensure they are the correct size.
If they are the correct size try a reinstall of the route.

I have downloaded and ran both types of installers the big one and the part ones and cannot duplicate any problems.
It goes as per normal.

Ok. Next step.

Open Route_Riter.
Select Route_Utils tab.
Select Route in top left window.
Click "Confirm Route" button.
Click "Check Route" button.
After several minutes RR will present a report.
Cut and paste it here.

I've had this problem with a couple of routes that displayed this error.
I fixed it by copying the envfiles from a working route into the corrupt route and then opened the .trk files of both routes and replaced the envfiles in the corrupt route's .trk with those of the working one.

Copy the sound folders from USA1 and USA2 to the southern main route folder overwriting when it asks.
these are Default .sms files from MSTS and if you are missing them you must have done something or deleted something that you shouldnt have.

I need a small group of activity testers for 3 activities that I have written for the Southern main route.
A good understanding of MSTS and its co relation with needed rolling stock is required so no newbies will be accepted.
You must also be comfortable using the default .APK files for unpacking the acts.

This is not to be used as an excuse to get the activities early and if you pass the criteria you WILL be expected to provide input such as did the activity run as planned without errors and to provide ideas for improving the activities further.

This is only the start with many more activities planned.
Warning gimme pigs will be outed!!!!!!
Please PM me with your details.

Cheers Ed
