There were delays today on the Ipswitch Line as a car was hanging over the lines between Milton and Auchenflower.
Looks like the car tried to get a little bit to close to the fence while parking and went over the drop. He wasnt on or particularly near the lines, but with a bit of a knock he would have escaped the fence and landed on the lines.

Due to the car sitting in a precarious position between Milton/Auchenflower ... most of the all stoppers were stuck between Corinda and Roma Street.
The 0705h express off Ipswich was diverted via Yeerongpilly ... only adding 10mins to the schedule.

Do QR Transits patrol the Airtrain? I was reading this story about some getting in trouble for not having a ticket riding on it, but if they do not patrol it, do Airtrain provide security staff?

Legally I think Transits would be on shaky legal ground issuing tickets on a private rail service on private land.
Fare evasion is almost zilch at the airport - most of the time theres someone manning the exit, a reverse ticket window that doesn't mind you buying a ticket as long as you pay and the fact theres no discount for concession.

Just got a call from the wonderful Go Card Team at TRANStink. A few weeks ago, I had trouble tagging off at Zillmere. I was not aware of this until I tagged on the following morning because the machine beeped. After a quick phone call, the staff member apologised and assured me that the refund would be processed quickly. Just short of two weeks later, the refund had still not been processed but I was told that I was on 'high priority' in the refund queue. Another two weeks later, the refund had still not be processed, but this time I was told that there was no problem identified with the machine and that no money would be refunded. Naturally, I was not happy with the decision and took it further to the 'Go Card Adjudicator.' As promised, I was called back today and a staff member asked me if I had any additional information. There really was not much more to say, so he said that the decision remained unchanged. The staff member once again told me that there was no problem with the machine and suggested that it was my fault. When asked whether he thought it was my fault, he said that it may have not been my fault. When I said, "if it is not the fault of the machine, and it is not the fault of the user, then who's fault is it?" The staff member could not answer my question and began reciting Government Policy. I politely told him that I was only interested in a refund and had no interest in policy.
It would have cost TRANStink more to call my mobile for ten minutes than the cost of the refund. I have been using my SmartCard since the Pilot Phase and enjoyed the benefits of such a system, but unfortunately, it is time to put the 'No Go Card' on the tracks. That's the best place for a Go Card; it might even add value. I will make sure my card has a negative balance though before I have it mutilated. Keep you eyes peeled for a video, "How to get the most out of your Go Card."
This is the first and last time I will have a problem with the Go Card.

Coopers Plains station has has its station name signage fully replaced with the black and orange TransLink style (same as has been fitted only to the platform building on the Platform 2 side for a while now).

Is "Citytrain" as a public brand now dead?

Mick, here there is a photo of the new sign in the post made by StormyTravel in the Everyday QR Network Observation forum (Third post from the top of the page).
http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11307292-0-asc-s2685.htm
I think after July 1 CityTrain will not exist anymore and Translink will take over the management of the Timetables, Fares etc.
The trouble with trouble is that it starts with fun...

The QR CityTrain brand still exists. There were rumours a few months ago QR was going to sell CityTrain but nothing more has been said. QR will still continue to plan the timetable.
What do you think of public transport in South-East Queensland?

So is it still quite possible that the current IMU160 scheme will be likely in the future with QR and Translink logos all over it?

From what I understand, QR are to be stripped of the right to plan services etc - the new Translink body will have that authority.
I can only assume QR is to keep "Citytrain" as an in-house division, which will be contracted to Translink to provide the services?
The new body is based on Transport for London, right?
