And next year, there will be again!

I did notice in allanls gallery that there was also a single ended 930 class and also FB class flat wagons there there may be more than just the Suburban coaches. I have also heard a rumour of another Redhen pack in STA and preservation conditions and also a 900 class but it is just a rumour I have heard.

Hi Guys
I explored putting trams into V1 quite early. The Semaphore line ran into the overloaded Port Adelaide tile, the Finsbury line ran into the overloaded Woodville tile (it has the Port line, Grange line and the Finsbury line on it), Paradise line but just getting the photos to create North Terrace would be a week's work plus build time would be massive, and so it went on - Prospect would need Prospect Road and O'Connell St or Enfield ......... too hard. I tried, but too hard. Severe heart failure is terminal!
So far as a trolley bus is concerned, my memory says that they ran Magill Rd, Rundle St, Hindley St, Port Rd, so the only place available is again the Port Adelaide Tile - yuk, makes life hard - bother!, said Pooh Bear, heh, heh. If someone gives me a couple of reasonable photos, front and side, I will build one and squeeze it in.
Hmmm, the rumours are working overtime - be patient - all will be revealed - which reminds me, I have not heard from Yuri for a day (week) or so - Yuri, are you still out there? Busy as ever? Heh, heh, heh, hee, hee.
Cheers
allanl
PS there is a post in MSTS Discussions that relates to the route and tonnages for trains that might be worth picking up on.

Yes, indeed! I heard that final approval was given for the planned extension of the Glenelg tramline to North Terrace. I sure makes a lot of sense to link up the tram and train services. Of course, it was wrong to remove any of the Adelaide tram services, but that's another issue.

A friend here in Leeds has lent me three huge tomes about the former tram services here. There was a fantastic network, and it is a shame that it was all so ruthlessly ripped out. They even had brilliant plans for a modification to the lines in the city center, making them go underground. But petty politics and lack of vision at the Council prevented this from happening.

Allanl, this nothing to do with MSTS, just some useless info.
The good ol trolley buses single and double deckers never ran on Magill road. They ran from Erindale down Kensington Road, Dequetteville Tce, then Rundle Street, Hindley Street, Port Road to Port Adelaide. As a teenager boarding and working at Kensington I would catch the trolleys into Rundle street to the flics and to the Port to fish off the wharves. Boarding at Kensington I had choice of the Glenelg trams, or Trolley buses. The Glenelg trams came up the The Parade to Kensington Gardens. Later I lived at Stepney and the Magill and Payneham Roads were serviced with the dropside trams.

Those were all great tram days and memories back then, just like the old SAR. [sigh]

Hi jm1941,
Having read and reread your last post, I feel that it would be very appropriate in the "Nostalgia" post - iI mean, what a choice - Glenelg trams or trolleys. My memory says the trolleys were very comfortable. I would love to put them in the route, but I have nothing to work from and very restricted in where I can put them. They were a wonderful part of Adelaide's transport history.
Judging by the "1941", you would have some wonderful memories, and are nearly as old as I am, heh, heh.
Cheers

Track is laid to Serviceton, and all major buildings built. Scenery and signalling is complete to Keith. Some smaller builings such as the munitions storage silos around Wolseley, Serviceton Signal box still waiting and then terrain, roads, scenery and squillions of trees, trees, trees and trees. Heh, heh. I'll try to update my Photopic site late this afternoon/evening.
Regards

Have just put a few pics into the Photopic gallery.
Tailem freight yards are almost 1000m long and the entire Tailem yard is about 2000m. Hope that is OK.
Cheers

Hey allanl, good to hear that the route is still alive and kicking a progress is still being made. I wish you all the best for the final completion of the route.

Just thought I would let you know, I may be going to Serviceton later on this month so I'll see if I can get a few photos of the station there. Just thought I would offer to help in this massive undertaking. Wish you best of luck!
