Try this, this site answers almost any question you might pull out of a hat. It's helped me many times by searching alone.

Did you read my previous post? I didn’t expect to hear back for a couple of weeks.

If you want your cab to work properly and you can not get someone to do it for you, then you will have to LEARN how to do it yourself.

As I suggested in my previous post, reading the CVF files and examining the associated ACE files will allow you to determine how the different gauges, levers and buttons work. It’s not easy or quick, but it’s not rocket science either. Spend some TIME looking at these and it will start to make sense.

Most of us poor saps had to work it out ourselves. I personally stooped pretty low and I’m ashamed to say I even resorted to using the search function at the various MSTS cab building forums. One of the problems with searching is that you often learn a lot more than what you initially thought you would. You have been warned.

Maybe when you finish your cab, you could write a tutorial to help out other budding cab builders?

As ARG706 suggested search the train-sim forums. uktrainsim also has a dedicated cab building forum that you can search:

Rubbish!

Ian Morgan goes into a lot of detail on animating cab view components in his cabview tutorial on the steam4me site. You need to take your time, dissect a few CVFs and their corresponding ACEs, and in conjunction with Ian's tutorial, the penny will eventually drop.

Sqeekazoid has been told a million times to check out the Steam4me tutorials and yet he still hasn't. He wants everything spoon fed to him, but he is too damn blind to even see that it already being spoon fed to him with the tutorials on Steam4me.

Well that is your fault. Why not go to bed before 12am instead of hanging around on here in the early hours of the morning? Also, being tired when you reskin usually causes you to become aggrivated much more easily and you become impatient when something doesn't turn out how you planned it. This only results in a poor reskin.

Hey sqeeky slow down you don't have to have it finished last week, if you keep going the way your going you will wear yourself out and you will continually make mistakes. Now stop the work and go and read the tutorials, if you can't understand something then ask someone for help and i'm sure someone will help you but slow down

Squeekazoid, you don't have to animate the front view, not all cabs are animated. Take the DL531 cab for example on steam4me. The only thing animated in that cab is the gauges. The Bleubird cab is a good example too, only one thing is animated, a gauge. So before you animate the controls, animate the three gauges in the Jumbo Cab. Don't worry, this is just advice.

I am not trying to make you feel bad squeeky but trying to animate everything in the cab on the first attempt is without of doubt trying to bite off more than you can chew. Continue with the Jumbo cab until the brake gauges and speedo are working and release it. You can always release another more animated version of the cab later on to replace the first one.
