I seen that at the Mt Thorley waiting to head out with a grain train passing though heading south so could be what you said 8160/48123/48140.

I got a photo to so I will share it with everyone tonight.

Yesterday on spoil trains at Summer Hill were MZ?/4717 followed by a bunch of wagons with spoil bins, followed by 4703/MZ? followed by more wagons. I don't know if the two trains were just exceptionally close to each other waiting to leave the worksite, or possibly coupled together to make a long consist with two locos in the middle - because I was driving I couldn't get a proper look, but it seemed to be the latter?

yep, can confirm Biqua, saw them yesterday. MZ1440 was with 4703 and MZ1442 was with 4717. Photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/hurstville1

No idea if they were connected, they were close together though.

Interesting, G Class's are becoming a more common occurence up here nowdays.

rumbleman

JU73 is formed by a southern rake & travels from Pt Kembla to the Hunter & return each day. Approx midday through Broadmeadow heading north, this train of late has had atleast 1 G class amongst its units.

There have also been 1, sometimes 2 (some days) other southern rakes come up as far as Newstan also although how regular these run is unknown. these services have also had atleast 1 G in the consist.

There are now 10 G's allocated to Southern Coal so there present in the Hunter is growing

rumbleman Train Controller

Yeah been noticing a few more of them coming into Pt when I've been over there, that explains it. Knew there was a southern rake that came up here but I wasn't sure of the run or unit number. I've been mostly at KCL for 2 weeks so I've been missing out on the more interesting stuff.

As I'm hoping to get up that way in the next coupla weeks, are these units both in the original Silverton colours, or has one or both been repainted into Coote Industrial colours?

Thanks in advance!
