Incorrect
I think Wanbi was on the Barmera line at the start of the now long gone Yinkanie branch
Clues so far:
- Siding in the murray mallee area
- The siding in question isn't well known, but has been mentioned numerous times on this forum
- The neighbouring sidings in each direction are not major stations or termini (such as Paringa, Karoonda)
- Think on the Peebinga, Waikerie, Loxton or Yinkanie lines.
Incorrect answers:
Lameroo
Parilla
Pinnaroo
Halidon
Wynarka
Lowaldie
Mindarie
Sherlock
Alawoona
Wanbi

My mistake ! I shouldn't have guessed Kulde - what I was trying to remember was this name :
Karte .. on the Peebinga line.

Both wrong.

- The neighbouring sidings in each direction are not major stations or termini (such as Paringa, Karoonda)
- Think on the Peebinga, Waikerie, Loxton or Yinkanie lines.
- This siding has appeared photographically in a book

Galga?
Mate, if that loco pulls as hard as you do, it'd move anything.
I'd still rather have an ALCo.

Galga was to be my next guess, but since it's just been used I'll select the nearby location of Maggea.

Maggea it is. There is a great photo of the "station building" on the back cover of Country Railway Stations South Australia

Good -o !
As I'll be offline over Easter, I'll leave the stage free for any "Where Is it ?"questions.
And, ARG 706, I'll invite you to submit another question for the Easter break, if it interests you

I've got a question:
How was car 153 distinguishable from other cars of the same dimensions (apart from all being NG)?

I have never seen a photo of 153, so this is just speculation.
Window layout, due to the office/working areas and the two sleeping compartments?
Another possibility could be roof water tank position, as it was fitted with a shower and a single toilet in its role as a pay car. But then again they may have been fitted in a similar position to the two toilets in the other cars an there for the tanks would be an similar position
