I promised a while back that if I won a bogie I would shout some beverages for everyone Shocked

Since that has occurred it seems I must deliver on my promise Cool

I would like to suggest to any of those who visit this site that a BBQ/Get Together should be held at Belair RS (or right next to it in the National Park) leading up to Christmas. I'll find out about the rules re BBQ's in the area.

I was thinking the best options would probably be Sunday arvo on the 21st, or (because of holidays) on either the following Mon/Tues/Wed late arvo/night - which ever is the busiest night for rail services. It will also make it easy for those who use public transport and for those who would like to have a drink and not drive.

Anyone like to go?

If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions feel free to make them Very Happy

I reckon the Sunday arvo despite being quieter than sometimes, would be more convenient for people to meet on.

Gas barbecues are available at 13 sites around the park, free of charge and eight picnic grounds with barbecues that can be hired. You are encouraged to use this facility and return to your picnic site to allow others to use the facility. When a Fire Ban is declared for the Mount Lofty Ranges, Belair National Park may remain open. In this event, ALL gas and solid fuel fires including barbecues are not permitted. The existing gas barbecues may not be used without CFS approval (Schedule 10). For further information on Schedule 10 and park closure please contact the booking office on ( 08 ) 8278 8279.

I think that answers the questions about the BBQ usage, ring that number in other words.

Number rung (Thanks for the link/info fabricator Cool ). Mentioned the area next to the station and that we would use our own BBQ. All ok, no permits etc. needed. Only rule is no BBQ allowed when a Fire Ban is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges.

I'll supply a heap of drinks (up to a point Cool ), can anyone help with the BBQ (There's always a catch with a lustyshant question Very Happy ) as I don't have one.

Count me in.

Any day after December 20 is OK with me. A BBQ would be nice, but if all else fails, Vegemite sandwiches and VB is a good combination. Drunk

I'm not crazy, M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!

Would love to come to this and share your beverages, Lustychant. Maybe even bring a couple of my own as well, not to mention some meat for the Barbie, but unfortunately I'm busy that day, so won't be able to attend.

All the best for your get together and for the Chrissie Season which will shortly be upon us, and look forward to seeing some pics from the day.

Cheers,
Wayne

Well it looks like the arvo of Sunday Dec 21st it is. I'll change the title of the thread to reflect this. Good to see the interest and I'm looking forward to meeting many of you. It's a shame GC2 won't be there, though I promise to have a drink for you there Cool . If the BBQ idea turns turtle we can always order Pizza Very Happy .

As for a start time does anyone know if anything is generally running through Belair around lunchtime so we don't miss out on anything by getting there late?! Also if anyone would know what we can expect trainwise during the day that info would be appreciated. Being the Sunday before Christmas hopefully it will be busy.

I think an invite should also go out to anyone who reads the SA forum and hasn't signed up. It would be good for it to be a informal day with those who post on, or read these pages.

I'll organize a couple of cartons so If there are any special requests let me know. I'll also get some soft drink, If anyone wants anything other than coke let me know as well.

So far we have -

Lustychant
Alco_Haulic
409
BuddyALX
4BJ
hutchy1
squeekazoid
Pressman
Rotarian714?

Glad to see GN4472 hasn't said he's going yet, that will save a carton on it's own Very Happy .

And where is 2001 on the list? Does he really exist Cool
