Pt Pirie

Clue Recap -

This dressed stone (99% sure) SAR station still stands.

To visit this station today would require you to catch a standard gauge train however this was not always the case.

The station is not currently used for its intended purpose.

Expect trickiness Very Happy ...maybe???

I know there has to be some trickiness here, but to work that out at 1:12am is definately pushing it Wink

We have a winner!

<Drum Roll>

'2001' with the classic 'original Port Augusta Station'

The SAR dressed stone (99% sure) SAR station that still stands, can be visited today by catching a standard gauge train (with a short walk, or as simon141 would recommend, drive there and simply park on the now vanished tracks) and is currently used as the Curdnatta Art Pottery Gallery. Built in 1878 out of dressed stone? (help anyone?), this was the original Pt Augusta railway station operated by the SAR until the advent of the CR which gave Pt Augusta its second station. I believe this station was used by the SAR until the takeover of the Oodnadata line by the CR, when NG trains then departed from the current station. If anyone may know any extra info or if any corrections are necessary let us know.

Ok 2001, the floor is yours and look forward to your question. Cool

That's a fantastic photo! And it's also great to be able to still see an NM pulling out of Pt Augusta with a train. Too bad the train on the other platform can't be recreated.
