Just thought you'd like to know, it states at the bottom of the Train Simulator page on Microsoft...
Quote:

Following the successful release of Microsoft Flight Simulator X, the Aces Studio is using the same technology to develop a new version of Microsoft Train Simulator. Unrelated to our previous Train Simulator development efforts, this version will be an all-new product built on the Flight Simulator X platform, the culmination of 25 years of product development and technology.

Lets hope, for all of us with slower computers, it doesn't require the same amount of RAM as FSX, as lots of people won't be able to use it.

I'm back after a few months away!

The minimum RAM requirement for FSX can be bought for around the same price that these simulators retail at. For the advancement in technology, and all the other bells and whistles, that's the price you've gotta pay.

You don't have to spend much at all to bring a PC up to a playable spec for FS-X and hopefully MSTS2 ...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ - ~$85
Applicable Micro ATX Motherboard - ~$80-90
Generic 2G PC5400 667Mhz DDR2 RAM - ~$120-145
Nvidia 8600GT based Video Card - $140-170 (DirectX 10 mid level card)
... or an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro - $190 (DirectX 9 - quite fast for its gen)

All up an average cost of $450 to bring a current ATX pc up to spec.
300W or greater power supply might be required depending on the gear you're running and depending on power connectors.

MS trotted out something to replace their tired old train sim? Wonders will never cease maaate! It'll have to be big improvement over MSTS to be worth bothering about. Will it have the usual Microsoft bugs or do you have to pay extra for those? Don't bother to check Greenhill I'm a Trainz user....
