Ah, this takes me back to my early days of gunzelling. I'm getting all nostalgic...
Of the 44s: none were painted in GNR livery, they were all in NSW liveries (I don't know which was in which variant though).
Of the GMs: The ones you put in green were all scrapped by GNR. Bear in mind the company was started to buy surplus locos, strip them for saleable parts and scrap the rest.
Of the Js: 102 and 103 were in GNR livery, 104 was in RTS and 105 was in NRC.
Of the Ts: All five that were in service were in GNR livery. T386 was in V/Line livery at Spotswood for the whole time GNR was active. When they ceased operating it finished up with El Zorro and is now back in service - still in what is more or less a V/Line livery.
Hope this helps!
Happy Gunzelling and remember, "Go by rail!"

Thanks for the pic 42101, i shall add it to my currently very small collection. Any idea which loco it is? I'm guessing 22 or 27.
Thanks for the info mjja. I spent many hours watching the Js or Ts shunting at North Melbourne between TAFE classes back in '99 & '00.
Can anyone shed any light on what colours the 44s were in?
Also anyone have any more pictures of GNR locos?
thanks
Steve

Pretty sure that the Moores had scrapped quite a few high-cab T's in the early 1990's, and I am about 70% sure that they scrapped a goodly number of 3rd series T's (T368/T384/T393/T410/T360 spring to mind...)
Not sure that they ever had T386, either.
Also, wasn't GM22 really GM28 and the two swapped numbers, due to GM28 being a much better unit than GM22, and Port Pirie Council wanting a GM, so the two were swapped?

4471 was Red Terror, and 4477 was Candy at the end (almost positive but happy to stand corrected), and as you already know 4483 was one of the 2 original Frightrail liveried loco's.

One of the wrecks (I think it was GM25?) was repainted and renumbered GM22 to replace it. It stands on the platform at Pirie now.
Mate, if that loco pulls as hard as you do, it'd move anything.
I'd still rather have an ALCo.

Thanks heaps Marcus. I had a few of them, but most of them was new.
My collection is growing. I've even found a few pictures i took in late 2002 which is great, cause i didn't think i took any pictures at North Melbourne at all.
