Nexas The Ghost of George Stephenson

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but General Motors seems to have dissapeared off the PIDs at City stations yesterday.

I haven't heard an automatic announcement for a Pakenham train since then so I don't know whether it announces or not, but the man announcing at Melbourne Central over the PA yesterday was announcing "Stopping all stations to Pakenham except for General Motors via Flinders Street"  LaughingVery Happy

Perhaps someone has finally signed it off as closed?

I noticed there was no longer a gap in the PIDs between Dandenong and Hallam, and the announcement for the 16.52 yesterday didn't say "except General Motors".

Well if no train stops and haven stopped since 2002 why say it!

Southern Cross Pids Now Say Watergardens As the Destination Instead Of Sydneham...... A few confused faces

It always has Said Except General Motors

- trolleybusracer

Yes, we are not disputing that fact.

It would be safe to assume Southern Cross now has PRIDE II installed, leaving Flinders Street as the only station remaning with PRIDE I.

On a side note, do you really need to start almost every single word with a capital letter? It defeats the purpose of capital letters even existing!

I didn't see any last time I went past, but then again were were going too fast. That, and the windows on XTraps aren't that good - it must have spent too long as a middle motor...

How do we get into the back cab of an X'trap? (that was a joke BTW) Anybody hook me up with an exclusive ride in a train?

Connex drivers aren't allowed to have people in the cab any more, so you'd have to write to Head Office and ask. If they let you in they'd give you a cab pass.

If anyone wants more photos, I can attempt to take some as a passenger, as I go through this station every morning and afternoon and have done for the past month or so.  In that time I can never remember seeing squatters there, though I don't always look, and the Comengs/Siemens bolt through there at what seems to be one of the top speeds on the network (95km/h?).  I think you'd have to be a pretty desperate squatter to be there though - not like there's much shelter except maybe under the old footbridge...

I can also confirm that the station indicators and announcements at Oakleigh and announcements at Hallam have had the "except General Motors" removed from them since earlier this week.
