It has been a little while since I or indeed anyone have heard any new updates to the SAR system. I'm am simply curious as to how much work needs to be done or whether it is in BETA testing. Also (if it has been completed), where can it be downloaded from or will I have to buy a copy and if I need to by a copy, how much and best form of payment?

I don't want to see this turn into a gimme pig flame war, please.

Best bet would be to ask or look through the Australian section at www.uktrainsim.com as the smeg fight of months ago saw many aussie MSTS'ers move from Railpage Australia™ to there.

Hi 409, (and Podolski)
It is a sad reflection on society that a polite, respectful request for information can be seen as material for a war. Most people today who are looking for info on the route, permission to use my models or need some assistance with route building, modelling , texturing, or beta testing of their models email me direct, or PM me. It politely side steps those whose responses can be uncaring, un-Christian or plain unprofessional. We are also finding that Skype is an incredible facility and two hours on Skype debugging a model is worth two weeks of emails. Really great.

So, the route is finished and track length exceeds 1,300 kms. Six activities have been written. Four activities are currently being written, one of them - the Blue Lake Express - is a 6 1/2 hour activity and will require days of testing when written. There are two others that would be good to have done but have not been started yet. Yuri is working on a handful of new SAR stock to be released.

Kindly email or PM me if you want any thing else - or Skype me. A severe heart condition makes it prudent for me to stay out of the public arena as far as possible these days.
Cheers

Thankyou for the update allanl. Good to see this route is still alive and kicking. I think you have single handedly broken a few Aussie MSTS 'records' in regards to track length, activity length etc etc. Anyway, I'll certainly PM you for more information if I need it. Even though the current version is just over a year old, I am still enjoying it greatly especially since I can now drive a 500 over the summit at Mt Lofty with a heavy goods and not stall several times in the process!

I look forward to seeing version 2 and what new rollingstock may come. I wish you all the best with this endevour.

Heh, heh, heh, that will come in handy for the Callington to Nairne section which has a 15 mph speed limit part way up due to track works in progress, heh, heh, heh. The level of detail has been lifted several notches in this release with SAR station signs, wild life, camp fires with animated flames, and vast areas of crops and grape vines all photo real. Add in over 90 buildings with night textures (including Adelaide Station)and a forest of new trees and shrubs, with much of version 1 revisited, tree replacement and houses with garden beds etc etc.
Then add Dual gauge and narrow gauge track, pine forests, bush fire and floods - the list goes on and on. It should be a bit of fun. Heh, heh, heh.
Cheers

Alan,

One thing I've noticed recently in Trainz is that a Sydney Double Decker Trolleybus is being developed. I don't suppose it would be possible to import it into MSTS, repaint it into Adelaide colours and include it in a future version of your Adelaide and Hills route.

Just an idea. Anyway all the best with your route building.

Good morning Geoffrey,
I replied to you last night, but when I hit the "submit" button, Railpage Australia™ had bombed out. So I will try again.
My understanding is that items built for MSTS and Trainz are incompatible. However, after I replied to you last night, I followed up on the trolley bus that I knew had been released recently on UKTrainSim. However, it has a dual rear axle. Now my memory says that we had some dual axled buses, but I cannot produce evidence of that. Further research showed that Ian Morgan released a single rear axle trolley some time back. I have contacted Ian exploring the possibility of a reskin to the Adelaide silver/grey with the "Hall's Bubbly Soda" advert, although I am certainly no expert on reskinning.
I do know Ian is very busy and may take a little while to reply - time will tell.
Cheers

I got the photos of "Casey Jones" - Kalangadoo's ganger's trolley yesterday. It is still in use today. It has come up really well with a lick of new paint, heh, heh. If you are ever in Kalangadoo, have a look at the museum that is in the old station building - incredible.

Hi Geoffrey,
We have Adelaide Trolley bus #407 in the grey with red lining, complete with "HALL'S bubbly SODA" advert.
I have tried twice to put a pic in the Gallery, but twice it has crashed after several minutes waiting, so you might have to wait for the route. But at least we have them. Many thanks to Ian Morgan for allowing me to reskin them.
Cheers

Thanks for Alan, Yuri and others. I am really looking forward to it, especially as most of my MSTS stuff is on my old computer (after having just purchased a new one).
