I wouldn't mind creating an "...all stations to Scone via Goulburn, Bomaderry (Nowra) and Lithgow" announcement myself.

I've was thinking about this overnight and wondering, if you get country music for announcements of trains to Wagga Wagga, what music you might add to other announcements.

I don't know whether this has been discussed before but my ideas were:

  • Emu Plains : Megadeth
  • Bondi Junction : Eiffel 65
  • Newcastle : Silver Chair (yes, I know that there are other bands from Newcastle)
  • Liverpool : the Boys in Black (they did a cover of More than a woman and were later sponsored by Liverpool City Council to record a song about Liverpool)
  • Dubbo : Billy Ray Cyrus
  • Sydney : songs about Sydney like My City of Sydney and Southend's the winner is

Hornsby and Campbelltown could have different music depending on which line the train took.

If you arrived on platform 18 or 19 at Central, the music could be the fastest way of working out where the next train is going. What music would you give to the each of the other lines.

Going home one night last year while waiting for the train, an announcement came over the station that had everyone in stitches. It said"Due to track work in Adelaide the next train on platform 4 will be the late running Hobart to Darwin service" Surprised

Laughing Reminds me of the time where i heard this announcement:

ding ding ding, the 2.56 train to waterfall has been delayed by approximately 7 minutes. (song cuts in) So they can say that the trains run on time
Another man there was made the trains run on time... cityrail apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

The platform was silent then broke out into laughter! Man it was funny!

BTW the song was "blow up the pokies, the whitlams!"

Thanks

That'd be the Yo Muthafcuka! Line, wouldn't it?

The train on Platform 22 goes to Yo Muthafcuka. First stop HeyMateYouGotaSpareTwoDollars, GayCouplesBuyingAlltheProperty, YouLikeaMyPurpleValiant, thence all stations to Yo Muthafcuka via FullySikWRX on the Doof Doof Line. Stand clear, bro.

Was on the 9:26 Central to Olympic Park one morning and the train didnt stop at Strathfield. The announcement made by the guard cracked everyone up,

"Due to no fault of the crew of this train, we failed to stop at Strathfield"

And then there was the announcement during the afternoon peak at St James back in the 80's, when there was some major discruptions going on.

"The next train to arrive on Platform 2 goes to, <pause> Oh hell I dont know!!"

It certainly changed the mood on the very crowded platform.

I used to have the program on my old computer. I am not sure if I can still get it. But there were some funny ones there.

"Attention passengers on platform 18, all Quakers Hill passengers are to pick up free iced cola from the station master. Please be advised that there are no toilets on this platform so intending passengers are advised to jump on the tracks and use that. Countrylink welcomes passengers to their Toilets"
"Please put all cityrail staff in the yellow bins provided. Due to defective toilets, blue bins have been provided for children, and an orange one for that smeg man on platform 20"
"Passengers are advised that the Tulip festival is smeg"
"Passengers travelling to the Royal Easter Show are advised that not all tickets include public transport via trains or the bus. Members are advised that it is more cheaper convenient and safer not to travel via Cityrail or bus"
"Passengers are advised that trains will replace bus this weekend between Wynyard and Gordon due to essential trackwork. Chatswood and Roseville passengers are advised to add an extra 15 minutes."
"For your convenience there are no doors or seats on this train. Please stand behind the door line"
I can't remember the rest. There were about 60 of them posted about 6 months ago.

City De-Rail sound clips, very well known. Can't remember the website where they are posted at, but I have them all here on my HD.

Re: Can Anyone Help???

I can help by suggesting you edit the thread title to reflect the nature of the help you are requesting. You need something about DVA in the title.
