Good thinking, 99
I've been delayed by fixing the niggling problems that've cropped up recently with Fang, and re-writing policies that some members seemed to desperately want.
Anyway...
Phil and I are about to start on writing the software architecture. Work on the theme is progressing nicely it looks quite crisp, if I do say so!
Brian has apparently ordered new servers, so I've set time aside to work on those. Hopefully they won't be delayed any further, because it's pushing my schedule out...

How's the supplies of sunshine and farts going? Need them interspersed with a few dollar coins?

Damnit, I've been busted. I guess that after months and months of code and server tweaks, people have finally noticed that I'm not infact improving availability for registered users, but giving free-for-all access to trolls, spambots and search crawlers.

Whilst I appreciate all the effort going into updating/upgrading the servers it seems to me that after a member gains access the system slows down after one accesses 3-4 different pages. This seems more prevalent when more than 300 members/guests are logged in.
I never make mistakes. I thought I did once, but I was mistaken.

It's just a load problem, ie the server is overloaded.

I can understand that but the data on the home page says that the max number of members/guests at one time was 2000. Therefore with the new server slowing down at 300 members/guests it appears that the new servers need extra 'processing capacity'.

Well yeah - if they had ample "processing capacity" there wouldn't be an issue with the server load, would there?

What sort of servers is the site running on? Maybe due to size of Railpage Australia™, multiple servers with load sharing incorporated are needed.
