Seems some threads are being locked up because of the above mentioned practices.
Take heart and post all your Idiotic, Crackpot and Bizarre Idea's here.
Nominate which past threads should be either split and reside here or which threads just deserve to be here in the first place.

I was thinking more of the Eucha-Geelong thread and Ballast Plough & wongm's idea of re-opening these deceased lines:

Hmm, lets throw in Skipton to Casterton too then.

Why not Newtown to Colac, via Cressy just for good measure.
Unfortunately a Steam Train is an impossibility in the places you desire.

Both in BG of course, just so it doesn't mate up with any existing infrastucture and the SG tracks (existing and planned ) are dual gauged....
 |
True, In the case of the Wangaratta-Whitfield line it was NG although it would've been better as BG.

Sorry, but no matter how hard you try (and melbtwunt is trying...) you'll never, ever beat this bloke. Gets a bit mean to the end, but no-one will ever even come close to this.

To read through 169 pages of crap is just to much that one can take, no matter how bizarre and idiotic it is.
Did he make any reference to a NG Velocity to be used on "special" charters on PBR? Not only a bizarre thought, but most idiotic as well.
Must be time for my meds...excuse me...

High Speed Rail Around the World.
You have heard of a around the world ticket but did you ever think of 1000kmh rail.
How could Australia join this amazing engineering feat between Europe, Russia and Asia? Perhaps a high speed ocean liner from Darwin to Jakarta then build a couple of little bridges between Indonesia and Singapore.
Melbourne Darwin 5 hours.
Darwin Jakarta???
Jakarta Paris- 17 hrs

Opening the South Gippsland line, that will never happen with the way things are going now.
Cross city tunnel, lots of talking but no action, or money with the economic crisis thats about.
100% of Melbourne trams being low floor.
V/line services to Adelaide.
TGV style services to Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide.
Bass straight tunnel, sounds like a great idea but only alive in dreams.
Trains running in Victoria that travel at more that 160km/h.

Thanks to the UN, that will be true (apart from the W class) by 2020 thanks to the UN and their disability laws.
Can I add Regional Fast MagLev to the list?

And if they are not all by 2020 what will the UN do?
