I will be honest with you that job is the hardest job to do in this job because of all the crap that they have to deal with.
If you really want to be a cop why dont you try the police force as they earn about the same but the only thing missing is the free travel.
So many times i have called for there help up here but there is none around in newcastle due to a lack of numbers but it would be great to see a few of them up here of a weekend when we need them the most.

I was talking to a TO who was involved in the Cronulla riots. He's going for Driver now due to injuries sustained during the riots.

He was talking to me and a couple of my mates about the job as a TO. One of the things was that it pays more than traincrew, is more dangerous, and if you ever get into a scuffle with anyone, you're responsible not only for the injuries you suffer, but also the other person's, even if they were in the wrong.

You get full training (safeworking and security) and the training is ongoing (from what I remember).

No they don't. TO's actually earn more. One of the reasons why some of the junior police officers join as TO's.

No, if you are injured you are just as resposible as any other worker injured in NSW in the course of their employment. You are covered by NSW Workers Compensation and associated legislations.

Injuries to other people. Depends on whether "Reasonable force" was used or not.

I think they only get free travel 2 and from work if they have to use the train.
And i didnt know that the normal police made less than a TO.
