Question for RP3 developers:
Understand you have a WIKI on the drawing boards (or in planning)
What designs do you have for a WIKI and what is it intended to scope?
There is a lot of useful historical material here on RP, and one wonders if any of that will make it into the proposed WIKI.

The wiki is online, but the menu setup is invisible. I think it should be free form, that is to say, allow publishing of whatever pages the user wishes to place on the wiki.
Some examples can be found at: | Post edited by michaelgreenhill | | Link removed - Railpage Australia™ |

I liked this:
| Quote: | | InfoBank is designed to reflect collective knowledge, not individual knowledge. If you think something that somebody has changed or added is wrong, discuss it in the forum before changing it back or removing it. |
Nice clear naming conventions
Style guide looks good. Good directions on use of the dreaded apostrophe.
Clear directions:
| Quote: | | Write in the third person. InfoBank is about collective knowledge, not personal knowledge or experience |
This would create the way for objectivity in any articles provided.
The guides on Pages about Persons, and Organisations, are fair and balanced. I would support these guidelines.
The restriction on books is interesting, from my point of view. (I have been a book reviewer for over 20 years) It is difficult to give objective book reviews or book-notes, perhaps that could be something for the forums. However, to my mind, some books may be considered having either profound historical impact or be seen as impetus to activity. Some books about NSW come to mind, and Speed Limit 20 comes to mind.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I had envisaged possibilities like quoting or linking to Infobank articles in various forum posts. I take it this will be possible?
Looks good, and you have laid out the parameters well.

I really like the concept also. A wiki can be a great area to place text which can be linked to other text or articles. I would be hoping for a system where:
1. You could link the the wiki from the forums
2. You could link forum threads from a wiki article
I would also like to see the ability to index the wiki pages into the site search engine.
Why was the link removed anyhow? Just when I wanted to take a look and provide some input.
CNNNN - "Mr. Howard, what do you think of our new ethanol flavoured lollypops?" Umm Mr. Howard? ..... Mr. Howard??????? ..........

What kind of licence are you planning for the content contributed to the Wiki?
Is it even possible to have a wiki licensing scheme that doesn't allow people to copy content to other sites, while still allowing the content to be altered by multiple users? I'm only familiar with how Wikipedia works.

Any information submitted onto Wikipedia becomes open-source. I would assume that it's the same for all Wiki's.
By 2010, the moderators will have all cracked and will live in a home.

I hope it gets strictly moderated. I don't fancy the South Australian section falling victim to non factual or false info like something posted on Wikipedia some time ago in relation to braking systems on suburban railcars

*sigh*
The influence of the full moon is still being felt, I see.
Other than your obviously sincere desire to see moderation on the Wiki (it will have Administrators and Editors and review editors) are there any redeeming features in this post?
Perhaps you could edit your post above and take the dribble elsewhere?

Editing rights should be limited to registered users who have been active for some time on the parallel Railpage Australia™.

Why not make it like the Railpage Australia™ News artcles where a member can submit an article but needs moderator approval before it is displayed on the homepage.
