My favourite one in Victoria is:

How about Goonoo Goonoo near Tamworth? There's a main road by that name in town too.

Guess how it's pronounced???

I don't like Cipher 124 - I thought I was going to spring Nug Nug on everyone!
Has anyone mentioned Ghin Ghin on the Goulburn River between Seymour and Highlands?

Interesting that the aboriginal derivation of Wagga Wagga was mentioned. In 1971, I was part of the organising team for the BP Rally, and aboriginal place names came up. I mentioned Tittybong ( in the Mallee in Victoria ), and the late John Pryce never even drew breath,
" Ah, yes, " he said, "Tittybong is aboriginal for Independent Front Suspension."
